Singing is my passion, music and song has an unexplainable healing quality, which is why I love it so much. It has the power to make you forget your troubles of life; inspire you, change your mood and for many it can bring back memories. Even for those who aren't able to remember everything anymore.
My Grandad plays a huge part in my life and is one of the main reasons why I sing. He has Dementia and Alzheimers which means his memory isn't great now, he struggles to remember the simplest of things and life can be challenging.
I love swing music, big band, jazz and musical theatre, that's my vibe. I think I was born in the wrong era. The legend that is "Ol Blue Eyes" Mr Frank Sinatra will always be one of my biggest inspirations. He style is effortless, he was true and masterful performer. I love the way he tells stories through the lyrics and managed to make every performance appear, in some way personal to his audiences. This is something I do my best to channel achieve when performing. The power of music is unexplainable, and it amazes me that he can remember the lyrics to songs, he will sing and often brings back some memorable times. For a brief moment it's like he is back, right there with you. When I started singing, I performed a lot in care homes, as I wanted to do the same for other people. I will always cherish their reactions and the response you get from them is beyond rewarding. Without this begining, I doubt I would have ever found the confidence to chase my dreams. I am determined to be successful and remembered for doing what I love and if I can help people and entertain them along the way then so be it!
